Over

I know that this wound will bleed again
Now I’m here right beside the one I love
I see he’s in love with someone else
Now I know I just got to let him go
Because it’s over, help me get over

I don’t know what to do
There is no easy way of letting go
But I know there’s no sense
In holding on too much to something fading

Help me, help me
Help me get over you

Now I see, you’re so happy with her
Deep inside I just don’t know what to feel
Oh, I’m sure, you don’t need me anymore
So I’ll go on, try my best to just move on
Now that it’s over, I got to get over

I know I’ve got to leave it all behind
Somehow I’ll try to get you off my mind
So tell me what to do
Help me get over

I don’t know what to do

There is no easy way of letting go
But I know there’s no sense
In holding on too much to something fading

Help me, help me
Help me get over you

Help me get over you

Special

There's something about the way this movie was produced, directed, written, and portrayed by actors that's just so effective and fantastic. Who says you need to be melodramatic emphasizing a father's love for his son? To be glossy showcasing a sci-fi concept? To have adrenaline-laden score to mount thrill?

This is the humanized version of E.T., the nephew of Looper, the raw re-imagining of Signs, the PG counterpart of Nightcrawler, the Beyoncé (circa Lemonade) foray into Spielberg territory, the middle finger of independent filmmaking to all-CG, zero-sense mainstream sh*t.

Didn't regret watching this over Civil War. Mainstream sci-fi lost me with that "BvS" thingy, with Allegiant, Scorch Trials, and even that otherwise unfantastic Fantastic Four.

The only horrible decision the producers have made was there from the get-go: the poster.

PS: Jericho Rosales needs himself some Michael Shannon influence in the father role category.

9.2 out of 10 stars!
