Call me irrelevant on a day where everybody's been remembering the 9/11 wreck but I will have this day my way.
Not that I'll be indifferent but I will be different.
First, a decade of grief is enough.
Time to party as 9/11 is also my beloved Lolo's birthday!
Boy was it already traumatic for him to have "celebrated" his birthday in the States 10 years ago.
Why bother stressing him out with painful memories now that he's already 80-plus?
If there's some soldier to salute to today, it's my Lolo.
He was, if my memory is serving me well, a guerilla in his prime.
How can I not be proud of my Lolo who once braved animosity in our own country and
who continues to brave old age by still working hard abroad?
Talk about working hard.
Second point brings me to this Q:
Who's this really good friend-slash-awesome photog who's working his a** off today on his very birthday?
It's Ronan Capili!
And why is he working his b*tt off?
Because of me.
He's shooting me today.
With these pegs,
I seriously hope to live up to the exquisite bar he has set upon me with his last photo of me a year ago:
See there's just so much to celebrate on this day more than what is going on beyond our own backyard.
